Uttar Pradesh Woman Judge Letter:�A woman civil judge from Banda district of Uttar Pradesh has accused one of her senior judges of sexual harassment. He has also written a letter to CJI DY Chandrachud demanding euthanasia. In which the female judge said that she had no desire to live now. That’s why she wants to end her life. This letter of the woman is going viral on social media. Realizing the seriousness of the matter, the CJI has also sought a report from the Allahabad High Court.
According to media reports, the Chief Justice has directed Supreme Court Secretary General Atul M Kurhekar to get complete information about the case. After this, Kurhekar wrote a letter to the Registrar General of Allahabad High Court seeking information about all the complaints made by the woman judge. The Supreme Court Secretariat also sought a status report of the proceedings before the Internal Complaints Committee dealing with the complaint. This entire incident has come after the letter written by the woman civil judge posted in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh to the Chief Justice went viral on social media.
What has the woman judge written in her letter?
If reports are to be believed, the woman judge, in her letter, pleaded for euthanasia, saying that she was deeply hurt because her senior district judge had treated her very disrespectfully. The lady judge further wrote that in the short period of her service, she has had the rare honor of being abused on the stage in open court. It is alleged that she has been sexually harassed to a great extent. They have been treated like garbage. The woman judge alleges that despite the complaint, no action has been taken by the Chief Justice and Administrative Judge of Allahabad High Court. He says no one has bothered to ask him what happened and why are he so worried? At the end of her letter to the CJI, the woman judge said that please allow me to end my life in a dignified manner. Let my life be rejected.
