Delhi: Suddenly an e-rickshaw caught fire in North East Delhi. Three people were badly burnt in this incident, in which one woman died and two others were seriously burnt. Who are undergoing treatment. Officials have given information in this regard today on Saturday.

This incident is being reported on Thursday morning. This incident happened near ESI Dispensary in Nand Nagri. Police suspect the battery of the e-rickshaw to be faulty behind the incident. Meanwhile, officials said that the injured have been identified as Pushparaj, who suffered 85 percent burns, and 28-year-old Gaurav, who suffered 40 percent burns. Apart from this, Pushpraj’s wife Omi Devi, who suffered 95 percent burns, died during treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Joy Tirkey said that on Thursday they received information from GTB Hospital about three people who sustained burn injuries after being trapped inside a burning e-rickshaw. The DCP said that it was found that the three e-rickshaw riders were going from Mandoli Chungi to Shahdara in an e-rickshaw. When they reached near ESI Dispensary in D Block of Nand Nagari, suddenly smoke started coming out from the e-rickshaw. When the passengers alerted the driver, he immediately left the rickshaw and ran away. Before the passengers could escape, the e-rickshaw started burning and the passengers got burnt.

The DCP said that the local SDM was informed and the statements of the victims were recorded in his presence. A case was registered in this regard at Nand Nagri police station and a case was registered against the accused driver Ratan Lal. He further said that a resident of Mandoli village was arrested in this connection.
