Delhi-Liquor Scam: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has called a meeting of his party’s MLAs on Monday i.e. today after being summoned by the investigating agency Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi liquor scam case last week. The meeting will be held in the assembly premises. AAP has 62 MLAs in Delhi and all of them are expected to attend the meeting.

ED had summoned Kejriwal

Kejriwal was summoned by the ED in the same case in which his former deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested in February this year and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on October 4. In April, Kejriwal was questioned for nearly nine hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case.

Kejriwal had written a letter

AAP supremo had written a letter to ED in this matter. He said that the ED notice has been sent to him to stop him from campaigning in five states. Also said that the Election Commission of India has announced the election campaign in Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Telangana and Chhattisgarh. He said that being the star campaigner of the party, I will visit five states to campaign and address party workers. He has also mentioned Diwali in his letter. He urged the investigating agency to immediately withdraw the notice.

Delhi government’s liquor policy

Delhi government’s now-abolished liquor policy for 2021-22 is being investigated by the ED and CBI after it allegedly favored some liquor dealers. According to central investigating agencies, this policy led to factionalism and people ineligible for liquor licenses were given more benefits. However, Kejriwal and his party have denied the allegations and claimed that the new policy will increase revenue share. Read the news related to this by clicking here…
