Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday said all MLAs have urged Arvind Kejriwal to remain the Chief Minister of Delhi even if he is arrested by any investigating agency. Let us tell you that last week, AAP’s national convenor Kejriwal was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the investigation of money laundering case related to excise policy. However, he did not appear before the investigating agency terming the summons as ‘politically motivated’.

Amid anger over the action of central investigative agencies against AAP ministers and leaders, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called a meeting of party MLAs on Monday afternoon. After the meeting, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that all the MLAs present in the meeting told Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that even if he is arrested, he will remain the Chief Minister, because the people of Delhi have given him the mandate to run the government.

Bhardwaj said that all these (MLAs) were of unanimous opinion that BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scared of Arvind Kejriwal. BJP knows that it cannot oust Kejriwal from power through elections and this can be done only by hatching a conspiracy. Bhardwaj said that the officials will go to the jail itself to hold the meeting and if we are called, we will be happy to go.

We will also be in jail soon- Bhardwaj

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the situation seems such that we too will soon be in jail. Therefore, it is possible that Atishi will be kept in jail number-2 and I will be kept in jail number-1 and we will hold cabinet meetings inside the jail itself. We will ensure that the work done for the people of Delhi is not stopped. Minister Atishi said that if Kejriwal is arrested, they (party) will approach the court seeking permission to conduct official work from jail itself. In a separate money laundering case, the ED had recently raided the residence of Delhi minister Rajkumar Anand. The ED had recently arrested party MP Sanjay Singh after an hours-long raid at his residence in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.
