The fact found in the investigation by the Anti Corruption Bureau also proved that Kejriwal government has done a scam of crores of rupees in the name of panic button. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and Leader of Opposition Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said this at a joint press conference on Tuesday. Both the BJP leaders welcomed the report submitted by the Anti Corruption Bureau to the Vigilance Department on the Panic Button scam. Also said that all the allegations leveled by the BJP in the panic button scam in Delhi have so far been proved correct in the investigation and all the accused involved in the investigation will also be revealed as soon as possible.

Virendra Sachdeva accused Kejriwal government

In October 2020, M/s TCIL entered into an agreement with M/s MAPL for five years for installation of 2 wireless walkie-talkies, 3 CCTVs, 1 GPS system and 10 panic buttons in each DTC and cluster bus. It is charging around Rs 3,000 per month per bus as its maintenance fee. In Delhi, the total number of buses including DTC and cluster is 4500, so one crore 35 lakh rupees are being collected as charge per month.

Sachdeva said that one lakh 12 thousand taxis are registered in Delhi. Earlier, on the basis of Rs 9 thousand per taxi, the total amount was being made Rs 100 crore 80 lakh, which has now been increased to Rs 15 thousand. Not only this, its renewal fee is also being charged separately. In this way, in five years, in the name of panic button, the Kejriwal government has collected Rs 800 crore in five years. Sachdeva said that during the investigation it was also found that most of the display screens in the control room were not working. Most of the buses do not have network connectivity of the control room. Further, the Darshan Kendras are not being manned by qualified operators, as M/s MAPL has not provided its operators for the command room.

Not only this, not a single complaint has been registered in the control and command room through this panic button. Means the panic button proved to be just a show whereas it could not be of any use. He said that the panic button has proved to be only a weapon of loot by Kejriwal and under its guise, Arvind Kejriwal has looted bus and auto drivers.

Kailash Gehlot should resign from the post of minister: Bidhuri

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramveer Singh Bidhuri on Tuesday demanded that Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot should resign from his post accepting his moral responsibility till the investigation is going on. He said that a delegation led by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva would meet the Lt Governor and submit a memorandum regarding the multi-crore panic button scam.

Bidhuri said that earlier also we had shown in front of the media by pressing the panic button, on which no response was received and the same thing has come to the fore in the investigation as well. The Kejriwal government is collecting hundreds of crores of rupees from taxi and bus drivers in the name of panic buttons and the work has been done to mislead everyone by installing plastic buttons of five rupees. We would like to thank the investigating agencies that the investigation started on the basis of the news published in the newspapers and today it has been proved in the investigation.
