New Delhi: Dengue cases are continuously increasing in Delhi due to rains and floods. According to the data received from the corporation, 56 new cases have been reported in the last week. With these, the total number of dengue cases in Delhi has crossed 240. Which is the highest in the last five years. Delhi has recorded 187 cases of the mosquito-borne disease till July 22, the Delhi Municipal Corporation reported on Monday. According to the new report of the corporation, the number stood at 243 till July 28. At the same time, in the investigation report, it has been said that 72 cases of malaria have been registered from January to July 28.

Corporation will buy drone to prevent dengue

In view of the ever-increasing dengue cases in Delhi, the Municipal Council of Delhi has planned to buy drones. In this regard, the corporation will soon float a tender for procuring drones and they will be used for monitoring major drains and remote areas to prevent mosquito breeding. Also it will be used for spraying medicine. A senior corporation official told that we will buy drones for surveillance and anti-larval spray activity. Tender for this will be issued soon and the project will come on the ground within a month and a half. He informed that along with spraying larvicide on major drains, drones would also be used to check breeding of mosquito larvae on roofs etc. Special attention will be paid to fumigation of monuments, hotels and markets in Delhi, which will host the G-20 summit in September, with the help of drones.

To prevent mosquitoes, larval fish will be released in the reservoirs

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi said that fish will be used to eliminate mosquito larvae that thrive in water bodies. The corporation informed that larval-eating fish will be released in the reservoirs to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. Also, keeping in view the orders of the National Green Tribunal, fogging will be done in an eco-friendly manner.
