Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a person for supplying banned drugs. 13 cartons (4,68,000 tablets) of Alprazolam tablets have been recovered from this person holding MBA degree. Its price is estimated to be around Rs 2 crore. The accused Ashwini Kumar alias Ashu is a resident of Sector 24, Rohini.

According to DCP Ankit Pratap Singh, the accused youth was caught from Rohini itself. He is being interrogated by taking remand for two days. Only after interrogation, on its spot, 13 cartons of Alprazolam 0.5 mg tablets, three mobile phones and some objectionable documents were seized from the transport booking office of Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaypur Badli.

Accused Ashwani is originally a resident of Bulandshahr, UP. After studying B.Com from Meerut, he did MBA from Pune. It worked as a Medical Representative (MR) with pharmaceutical companies. He had left the job due to salary cut during the Corona period. After this, in partnership with Rakesh, he opened a medical store named ‘Ishaan Medicine House’ located in Udyog Nagar.

Its license was also canceled by the drug department in July this year, but it continued to operate by obtaining another license in the name of one of its employees, Satish. Banned drugs like alprazolam command lucrative profits. Therefore, he started purchasing and supplying these medicines on a large scale. He used to purchase banned medicines from various pharmaceutical companies and supply them to several contacts including Mohammad Zubair.
