Delhi Air Pollution: The situation is getting worse due to continuously increasing pollution levels in Delhi. Regarding this, Environment Minister Gopal Rai has held a meeting with officials of the concerned department. While giving information, Gopal Rai had said that now winter season is coming and the wind speed is also decreasing. For this reason AQI has crossed 300. Instructions were given to implement GRAP-2. A meeting was held today with officials of the concerned department regarding this and necessary decisions were taken.

Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the Red Light On, Vehicle Off campaign will start from Thursday i.e. October 26. He said that bikes are causing the most pollution and also urged motorcyclists to get their Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC). Rai further said that metro officials have also been instructed to increase the frequency of trains and the same has been given to buses.

We will find pollution hotspots – Gopal Rai

The Environment Minister said that there are 13 pollution hotspots in Delhi. Today, eight other points, including Shadipur, Mandir Marg, Patparganj, Sonia Vihar and Moti Bagh, saw AQI levels above 300 due to local causes. Special teams will be deployed here to identify and investigate local sources of pollution. Not only this, the Punjab government is also taking steps to stop the smoke arising from the stubble.
