Delhi will soon have 100 world class EV charging stations. The per unit charging cost at these charging stations will be among the lowest in the world. Under this ambitious project of Kejriwal government, 100 world class EV charging stations will be set up at metro stations, bus depots etc. of Delhi. On Thursday, Electricity Minister Atishi reviewed it with officials of the Electricity Department. Speaking on the occasion, Power Minister Atishi instructed the officials to immediately resolve all the issues of setting up charging stations of the Electricity Department and DTL activation and prepare 50 EV charging stations by the end of April and 100 by the end of July. He directed that the construction of EV charging stations should be expedited and the work should be completed by following the timeline.

Explain that all these charging stations being set up by the Kejriwal government in Delhi are based on the public-private partnership model. For this, last year the government had floated the country’s biggest tender in this field. It is worth noting here that the cost of charging vehicles at these EV charging stations of Kejriwal government is the lowest in the whole world.

EV charging to cost less than Rs 3 per unit

Atishi said that due to the efforts of the Kejriwal government, Delhi has emerged as the electric vehicle capital of the country over the years. Towards this, to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in Delhi, we are building 100 EV charging stations across the city. He said that with this project, efficient and accessible EV charging infrastructure will be created in every part of the city. Where the cost of charging per unit will be the lowest not only in the country but in the world and people will have to spend less than Rs 3 per unit for EV charging.
