New Delhi: The capacity of Waste to Energy Plant located in Tehkhand of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be increased by 50 percent. Through this, electricity will be generated from three thousand metric tonnes of garbage daily. Mayor Dr Shelly Oberoi, after inspecting the plant, told that currently electricity is generated from 2 thousand metric tonnes of garbage daily, but soon electricity will be generated from 3 thousand metric tonnes of garbage daily. A boiler will be installed for processing one thousand metric tonnes of additional waste. Under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal, we are committed to make Delhi a garbage free city.

Let us inform that Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi inspected the ‘Waste to Energy’ plant in Tehkhand on Wednesday. The Mayor observed the entire centralized operation of garbage collection, control room, generation of electricity from solid waste. During this, the progress of the work of Engineered Sanitary Landfill being developed on 32 acres right next to the plant was also reviewed. Officials said that about 2 thousand metric tonnes of solid waste is being processed daily in the plant. From this, 25 MW of electricity is being produced per hour.

Mayor gave instructions to run DMC campaign

MCD is gearing up to save Delhiites from vector borne diseases. The mayor has given instructions to run the Dengue-Malaria-Chikungunya (DMC) campaign. Mayor Dr. Shaili Oberoi said that MCD will launch Dengue-Malaria-Chikungunya (DMC) campaign in all zones to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. In all 250 wards, public awareness campaigns will be conducted on a wide scale with the help of RWAs, local councilors and school students. Together with the Kejriwal government, the people of Delhi will get rid of these diseases.
