The ongoing tussle between the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister in Delhi is not taking the name of stopping. Meanwhile, the BJP has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena. The BJP, through its letter, has demanded the suspension of Delhi Women’s Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal from the post of DCW Chairperson.
The BJP has asked Swati Maliwal to be suspended from the post of DCW chief till the probe into the ‘alleged sting’ is completed so that she does not ‘misuse’ her position to ‘influence’ the probe. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, in a letter to LG VK Saxena, has requested to suspend Maliwal till the completion of the police investigation into the alleged molestation incident on January 19. Maliwal had on Thursday alleged that a drunken car rider molested her outside and then dragged her 10-15 meters from his vehicle to AIIMS. Maliwal claims that when the driver pushed the car forward, his hand got stuck in the window of the car.
The 47-year-old accused has been arrested in this case. Kapoor said that everyone has condemned the incident and it is satisfactory that after getting information about the incident, Delhi Police took prompt action and arrested the accused within an hour. But in this case, reports available on social media and media reports indicate that the molester, Harish Chandra Suryavanshi, is an active activist of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi from Sangam Vihar, the BJP spokesperson said. There are pictures of Harish Chandra Suryavanshi campaigning with an AAP MLA.
Kapoor said that this development revealing the Aam Aadmi Party link of the man accused of molestation has exposed Swati Maliwal and she will try her best to influence the police investigation in this matter by using her constitutional position. For this reason, Kapoor in his letter urged the Lieutenant Governor to suspend Maliwal from the post of DCW chief till the completion of the investigation into the alleged molestation incident, so that she could not ‘influence’ the investigation. Don’t misuse’.
