Ghanshyam Soni-Balrampur. The department itself has started cracking down on the corrupt officials of the Water Resources Department. In the process of land acquisition in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district of Surguja division, an FIR has also been lodged after departmental inquiry into the scam of about 9 crores. Ramanujganj police station has registered a case under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 409.120.
The Department’s Ramanujganj Executive Engineer has told in the application given for registering an FIR that Sanjay Kumar Gramkar, the then Research Officer and in-charge of Water Resources, Mithlesh Kumar Pandey, Senior Accounts Clerk, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Data Entry Operator, Dheeraj Abhishek Ekka and others. With mutual connivance and conspiracy, the amount of Rs 88754524 was irregularly paid in a fraudulent manner in the personal account.
Keep an eye on private individuals and suppliers as well
The Departmental Inquiry Committee, after examining the official records, has found the allegations to be true. The department has also made it clear that an FIR should also be lodged against those private suppliers who have received government money without any work.
Journey to Executive Engineer and corruption
After a preliminary inquiry into the matter, Grykar was suspended. According to the information, till April 2022, Sanjay Kumar Graikar used to be SDO in Ramanujganj only. After political upheaval, in May 2022, Graikar was given the charge of Executive Engineer. Since then this officer started putting land acquisition money in the personal account of various firms through your self cheque. This amount has been transferred from the personal account of the firms to the accounts of the engineer and his family members and relatives.
