Between 7:30-8:00 in the morning, a speedy truck ran over a father who was going to school with his two innocent daughters on a bike. All three bike riders died on the spot. Then an atmosphere of anger was created in the entire city. The city was closed and there was traffic jam.

According to the information received, this heart-wrenching incident happened fifty steps away from Municipality Chowk on Navapara-Kurud road. Due to the news of the incident, a crowd of people started gathering at the spot and the bus stand. Within no time the shops were closed and the road was jammed. According to eyewitnesses, truck number UP-67 E-9395 fled from the spot after the incident. Its driver took the truck one kilometer ahead. He stopped far away and jumped and ran away. Later, the police seized the truck and invoked Section 279, 304A against the driver and started locating the driver and owner.

It is told that Shivnath Yadav, 35, a resident of Godpara, left on a bike to go to school with his two daughters Vanshika, 5 years, and Hiya. Their bike was hit by a speeding truck and all three lost their lives on the spot. Meanwhile, Shivnath’s wife, mother of both children, Premin and other family members started crying badly. Little did she know that her husband and two children had left for school and would never return.

Many painful accidents have happened before

Let us tell you that within Navapara city, goods vehicles and sand filled highways run at full speed 24 hours a day. They do not reduce their speed even while passing through the city. Who will control the speeding drivers? Even before this, there have been deaths within the city due to highways and trucks. A few months ago, Haiwa had taken the life of a youth from Somwari Bazar in front of Harihar High School. A few years ago, a girl lost her life in front of Chhallani petrol pump. Two women had also died in separate accidents in Champaran Chowk and Madam Chowk a few years ago. Many incidents like this have happened in the city. Actually, the police station is one kilometer away from the city, so the drivers who drive at bloody speeds become unruly. Trucks, highways and other vehicles are parked on the roads at various places within the city. Due to this, two-wheeler riders are not able to take sides and they become victims of accidents.

Police appeared helpless in front of the anger of the city residents

The news of this accident spread like wildfire throughout the city. Within minutes a huge crowd gathered at the spot. With this, an atmosphere of anger spread in the crowd. It was natural also. Since three people died. After receiving the information, police personnel from the police station reached the spot but looked helpless in front of the angry crowd. The crowd started demanding that the driver and the truck that caused the accident should be brought to the spot only then the dead body would be recovered from there. Along with this, crowd started reaching Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Chowk bus stand and the road got jammed. The shops in the city closed spontaneously. SDM Jagannath Verma, CSP Jitendra Chandrakar, Naib Tehsildar Vasubandhu Diwan, Navapara police station in-charge Ashish Singh Rajput reached the spot. After receiving the news, many people gathered including former MLA Dhanendra Sahu, Municipality President Dhanraj Madhyani. From 8 am to 2.30 pm, the officers kept trying to pacify the crowd. In the end, only after the written assurance, the chakka jam ended and the three bodies were sent to the PM.

City residents calmed down on written assurance

After the PM, the last rites of the two girls, Vanshika (5 years old), Hiya (2 years old) and their father Shivnath Yadav (35 years old) and their father Shivnath Yadav (35 years old) were performed by the family and community members at the local Muktidham late in the evening. In which a large number of locality and city residents participated. SDM Jagannath Verma has said in a written assurance that the demand of giving Rs 30 lakh to the family of the deceased and giving a government job to the deceased’s wife Premin Yadav will be sent to the government within three days and the family will be informed. Only after this written assurance the anger of the crowd subsided. The number of the truck that caused the accident is UP-67 E-9395. The name and address of the driver and owner could not be known. On the basis of this number, the police has started searching for the owner and driver. The truck has been parked at Navapara police station.

Demand raised to ban entry of trucks within the city

On this accident, Raju Kabra, founder of Shri Salasar Samiti, said that the entire city was outraged by the death of 3 people of Yadav family in the tragic incident. There were 4 members in that family in which 2 very young children and the single wife became destitute after the death of their father. Now how will she live her life? Therefore, the government should provide proper financial assistance to this woman. Kabra said that how many more deaths will the administration wait for? Why are trucks filled with highways, sand and mud running at excessive speed during the day taking lives of innocent people?
