On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Habib Tanveer, Indira Kala Sangeet University Khairagarh remembered and honored him through an important event. Under this, a lecture based on Habib was held with the title ‘Sau Baras Ke Habib’. Senior journalist and critic Girijashankar was its chief guest. Registrar Prof. Dr. ID Tiwari and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Kashinath Tiwari were specially present in this lecture program organized in conjunction with Dr. Yogendra Choubey, Head of the Department of Theater of the University.
While speaking in detail on ‘Sau Baras Ke Habib’, chief guest senior journalist and critic Girija Shankar not only shared his experiences and moments with Habib Tanveer, he also told how Habib Saheb gave direction to many artists of Chhattisgarh. gave. He told how Habib established folk theater on the international stage by using the essence and theme of folk in the form of drama. And that’s why Habib will always be relevant.

The lecture given in an easy and simple style by the chief guest of the program Shri Girijashankar not only increased the knowledge of the students and researchers but also inspired them. It is noteworthy that the Drama Department of the University has been running since 2009. We have been continuously remembering Habib Saheb on his birth anniversary, and through him, analytical investigation of Indian theater has also been done. It is also necessary to mention here that about one and a half years ago, the theater theater of the university was formed under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Padmashree Dr. Mamta (Mokshada) Chandrakar and the guidance of Registrar Prof. Dr. ID Tiwari. Active in coordination with Dr. Yogendra Choubey, Head of the Department of Theatre, the theater has so far given its performances on many prestigious stages of the country. Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh is probably the first university in the country, which has its own well-organized and active theatre. ‘Sau Baras Ke Habib’ was conducted by Dr. Chaubey and teacher Dheeraj Soni expressed his gratitude.
