Raigad. To promote organic agriculture, Raigarh district is at the top in the entire state in the purchase of cow urine in Gauthans. So far 14 thousand 154 liters of cow urine has been purchased in Raigarh. From this, organic insecticide Brahmastra and growth enhancer Jeevamrit are being prepared.
Tell that, Collector Taran Prakash Sinha is continuously reviewing the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojana. He had directed the Animal Husbandry Department to increase the purchase of cow urine and promote the use of finished products such as Brahmastra and Jeevamrit, as a result of which the district is on top in the whole state in the purchase of cow urine.
Significantly, on the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, to promote organic farming in the state, purchase of cow urine was started on the day of Hareli festival along with creation of vermicompost in Gauthano. Since then, cow urine is being procured through women’s groups in Gauthano of Raigarh district as well. Organic products like insecticide Brahmastra and growth enhancer Jeevamrut are being prepared from cow urine.
Purchase is being done in 4 Gothans
At present, cow urine is being procured in 4 Gauthans in Raigad district. In this, cow urine is being procured at Banora Gauthan of Raigarh block, Supa Gauthan of Pusaur, Rudukela Gauthan of Lailunga, Nawapara (Gadainbahri) Gauthan of Dharamjaygarh. In this, a total of 14 thousand 154 liters of cow urine has been purchased in the district including 6095 liters in Banora, 4316 liters in Supa, 1657 liters in Rudekela and 2086 liters in Navapara. A total of 3829 liters of organic insecticide Brahmastra and 200 liters of organic growth enhancer Jeevamrut have been made from these.
Option available for organic farming, additional income also
Farmers are getting double benefit by purchasing cow urine. On the one hand, they are getting additional income by selling cow urine. On the other hand, farmers are getting an option for organic agriculture from the products prepared from cow urine.
