But it is being said that the Center is refusing to give additional rice for free distribution to Karnataka. Now Karnataka is going to meet its solution from Chhattisgarh. The Congress government in Karnataka has sought rice from the Chhattisgarh government to fulfill the promise.

Accusing the central government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that through the Anna Bhagya scheme, they want to fulfill the election promise of giving 10 kg rice to each member of the BPL family. But BJP is not allowing this to happen. At the same time, CM Bhupesh Baghel also supported Siddaramaiah and said that the Government of India had done the same with us. Although we have always stood with the farmers.
Karnataka government asked for rice from Chhattisgarh government
For your information, let us tell you that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had demanded 2.28 lakh tonnes of rice from the Food Corporation of India. But the Central Government issued an order and wrote a letter to the FCI saying that, except for the North Eastern States, other states should not be given rice and wheat. However, on Siddaramaiah’s demand, the Chhattisgarh government will give 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of rice to Karnataka. Discussion is going on to buy rice from Andhra Pradesh also. But till now there is no response from there, Siddaramaiah government clearly says that the rate of FCI is Rs 3400 per quintal. Compared to this, the offer price of Chhattisgarh is slightly higher.
