Even in the ward where the MLA and the mayor’s house is located, people are seen struggling to drink water. Even after this, water is available once in four days. In such a situation, water is seen turning on the promises of the government. At the time of Municipal Corporation elections, the MLA and Mayor in every ward make various promises to the people. But as soon as the elections are over, their promises start appearing hollow. The same has happened with the people of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.
People forced to fetch water by going deep ditch
Fooling people in the name of development is revealed when people are yearning to drink in the ward where the regional MLA and the corporation mayor live. Yes, we are talking about Ward No. 30, 31 and 32 of Chirmiri Municipal Corporation of Manendragarh Vidhansabha, where people have to come out of their houses and fill water from a natural spring in a very deep ditch towards the forest. On the other hand, people say that this problem has been going on for many years. But no public representative has been able to find a solution till date.
There is a shortage of water since 15 days – MLA
Regarding this issue, MLA Vinay Jaiswal has to say that there is a shortage of water, but this problem has been seen only for 15 days. Along with this, he said that Chirmiri is a hilly area, there is a natural spring, whose people have been drinking water for many years. While every house has a drinking water tap. Water has been supplied to 90 percent of the houses in Chirmiri.
Have to buy and drink water several times- Ward residents
If we listen to the problems of the residents of the ward, they say that there is a shortage of water here for many years. Hundreds of people from three wards bring water everyday from the spring built in the village. The family which is not able to bring water from such a distance, has to buy water and drink it. The taps of the municipal corporation installed in the houses get water once or twice a week. That too only two-four boxes, in such a way how the water problem for the family will be solved.
