Anil Upadhyay-Sitapur. The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence Day was celebrated at Jaistambh Chowk by the Nagar Panchayat amid mud-drenched and stinking atmosphere. Before celebrating this national festival, the Jaistambh Chowk, a symbol of national pride, was painted by the Nagar Panchayat. But there was dirt for months. And it was not considered appropriate to remove the mud which has become a symbol of disease. Seeing the indifference of the Nagar Panchayat towards the cleanliness of Jaistambh Chowk, there is dissatisfaction among the people. They have demanded the rejuvenation of Jaistambh Chowk including removing the dirt accumulated around Jaistambh Chowk.

Flag hoisting done amidst stinking filth

Significantly, the 77th anniversary of Independence Day is being celebrated in the form of Amrit Mahotsav in the country. On this occasion, hoisting the national flag tricolor in government and semi-government institutions, people are celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence Day with enthusiasm. In the same order, as usual, Independence Day was also celebrated at Jaistambh Chowk. Where the city panchayat celebrated the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence Day by hoisting the national flag in a smelly environment with mud which has become a symbol of filth and disease. Here, before the flag hoisting, cleaning and painting of Jaistambh Chowk was done by the Nagar Panchayat. But the stinking mud accumulated there for months was not removed. It is not that, during the cleaning and painting of Jaistambh Chowk, the eyes of the Nagar Panchayat did not fall on it. Despite this, not removing the mud present there shows the negligence of the Nagar Panchayat. Due to which there is a lot of dissatisfaction among the townspeople. In this regard, the townspeople have demanded from the Nagar Panchayat to remove the accumulated mud near Jaistambh Chowk and rejuvenate Jaistambh Chowk. In this regard, CMO Nagar Panchayat Jeevan Lal Yadav told that he has just arrived. That is why he is not aware of it. Soon, cleaning will be done there by removing the accumulated dirt near Jaistambh Chowk.
