Umesh Yadav-Korba. Navratri festival has special significance in Hindu religion. Every year two Navratri festivals are celebrated. Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri. Preparations are being made across the country for the great festival of worship of Shakti. In this series, along with various rituals, wish-light urns will be lit in all the goddess temples of Korba district. This time a larger number of lamps will be lit in the Sarvamangala temple as compared to last year. Till now Jyoti Kalash of 7700 devotees have been registered. For this, the members of the temple committee are making vigorous preparations.

This holy festival of Navratri, falling in the month of Ashwin, is also known as Shardiya and Kwar Navratri. According to the Hindu calendar, Shardiya Navratri will start from the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month, after which the worship of Shakti will also start. Necessary arrangements are being made for Navratri at the Devi Sarvamangala temple located on Hasdev bank. Internal and external preparations are in the final stages.
