Lightning struck jail: Loud sound and flash created panic among prisoners, many CCTV cameras damaged

Umesh Yadav/Korba- There was panic in Korba district of Chhattisgarh when due to bad weather there was a thunderstorm and lightning fell directly on the jail. Due to absence of lightning conductor, 20 CCTV cameras and one TV of the jail got damaged. Not only this, two trees present in the jail premises were also burnt. The jail management has conducted a survey of the damage. Besides, a proposal for lightning conductor is being prepared from the Public Works Department, which will be sent to the headquarters for approval.

Let us tell you, it has been raining continuously in Korba for the last few days. Incidents of lightning are also being reported due to rain. Due to which there is loss of life and property also. Something similar has happened in jail also. Where there was a stir due to lightning. The management has suffered huge losses due to lightning in the jail.

242 prisoners are present in the jail…

At present there are about 242 prisoners present in the jail. In this context, it is very important to have a lightning driver in the jail. Every year lightning strikes the jail premises. Therefore, a major accident can happen here at any time. In this regard, the jail management has asked the Public Works Department to make a proposal for a lightning conductor. After which it will be sent to the headquarters for approval. However, the jail management has also heaved a sigh of relief as there was no loss of life due to lightning incident in the jail. This incident has happened due to lack of lightning driver, now it remains to be seen how long will the lightning driver stay in jail.
