Elephant death: Dead body of a small elephant found lying in the swamp, panic in the forest department

Umesh Yadav-Korba. There was a stir in the forest department due to the death of an elephant cub in Katghora forest division of Korba. The dead body of the baby elephant was found in the forest near Saliabhanta in village Nagoi of Jatga forest range. It is not known how the elephant died. At present the Forest Department is investigating the matter.

Forest officials have expressed apprehension that the baby elephant might have died due to getting stuck in the swamp of the pond. Katghora DFO Kumar Nishant said that this incident happened at around 3 o’clock in the night. As soon as the information was received, he himself reached the spot and started taking necessary action. Let us tell you that at present a group of about 40 elephants is roaming in different ranges of Katghora forest range. Due to which an atmosphere of panic is created among the villagers. Due to the death of the little elephant, the forest department has advised the villagers to stay away from elephants because they would be very angry at this time.
