Ghanshyam Soni/Balrampur- An elderly man was crushed to death by a tusk elephant in the Gram Panchayat Chowki of Ramanujganj forest area. The deceased had gone out of the house to defecate when he could not see the elephant in the dense fog and this accident happened. After receiving the information, the Forest Department team reached the spot and started action, while the villagers have made serious allegations against the department.

Villagers say that no information was received from anywhere about how long the elephant has been roaming in the area and what is its location. The department did not give this information. Due to which the villagers could not know about it. This morning, when the deceased left the house, the dam had gone to the shore and due to dense fog, he could not see it, after which the old man died. However, the Forest Department team has immediately given compensation amount to the family members for the last rites and has started further action.
