  • BJP won in Chhattisgarh due to Modi’s guarantee, Shah’s strategy and Nadda’s guidance.
  • Election dialogue of Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi, Editor-in-Chief of News2News.in-INH with Brijmohan Aggarwal

Raipur. Former minister and MLA Brijmohan Aggarwal, who won the elections from Raipur for the eighth consecutive time, says that if Congress had contested the elections on the face of Bhupesh Baghel, then BJP would have got 64 votes, not 54 votes. Would have won seats. The Chief Minister’s face had become so tarnished that Congress finally gave the slogan ‘Congress hai to bharosa hai’ instead of ‘Bhupesh hai to bharosa hai’. But Congress had also lost its trust among the people. Congress did not fulfill any of its promises. The public rejected Congress and gave another chance to BJP. Now BJP will leave no stone unturned to live up to the expectations of the people. Excerpts of the discussion held by Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi, Editor-in-Chief of News2News.in-INH in the election dialogue, are presented.

▶ Which victory is more surprising, BJP’s 54 seats or your victory by more than 67 thousand votes?

▶ There is no surprise in both the victories. Due to Modi’s guarantee and Amit Shah’s strategy, BJP won 54 seats. The guidance of our national president JP Nadda was also important. Due to Bhupesh government’s corruption, mafia rule, atrocities on women and not keeping the promises made to the public, the public took revenge as soon as they got the chance.

▶ How much benefit did Congress get from retreating from trust on Bhupesh?

▶ If BJP had contested the elections on the face of Bhupesh Baghel, it would have got 64 seats, not 54. Bhupesh’s face was scarred. His face had become the face of corruption and fraud. The Chief Minister’s job was only to earn money, no matter in what way that money came.

▶ Did Shah’s strategy work for your victory by more than 67 thousand votes?

▶With the guidance of Shri Shah and the lessons of national leadership, our national leadership made a strategy and released the manifesto and these included Mahtari Vandan Yojana, gas cylinders for poor women at Rs 500, PM housing for 18 lakh underprivileged people, paddy purchase at Rs 3100, The strategy of paying two years’ outstanding bonus led to a big win. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had deployed his henchmen to spoil the election atmosphere. But the public had also thought that only the one who lives in the hearts of the people and protects Sanatan Dharma should win.

▶ You have good relations with the Chief Minister, then why did you employ henchmen?

▶ My relations have always been good with everyone including Congress leaders Arjun Singh, Digvijay Singh, Motilal Vora, Shyamacharan Shukla. Although there is rivalry in politics, there should not be personal rivalry. Bhupesh Baghel knew that air is generated throughout the state from Raipur itself. The Chief Minister’s reputation was at stake, so he severed ties.

▶ Were the results certain as soon as the elections were declared or did the atmosphere change later?

▶ As soon as the elections were declared, it was certain that BJP would win. When the public gets a chance, it takes revenge in this way. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meetings also worked to create an atmosphere in favor of BJP. Amit Shah played a master stroke by giving ticket to Ishwar Sahu from Saja. Shah’s strategy was written on a blank slate.

▶ Why is BJP entangled after winning the elections, the name of the Chief Minister is not being decided, why are there clouds of confusion?

▶ There is no cloud of confusion. The national leadership of BJP wants to take such a decision that all 11 seats can be won in the Lok Sabha elections in the coming time.

▶ Why doubt the ability after many stalwarts like Dr. Raman Singh, Brijmohan Agarwal?

▶ There is no doubt. The 54 MLAs who have won, all have potential. That’s why it’s taking time.

► Why does the statement of making a big man not come in your context?

►This has to be said about the new people who contest elections. This was said for only two people and for 8 people in the state. As far as I am concerned, I consider myself both a big and a small person. I live in the hearts of people for 40 years. What greater man can there be than this? People made me win by 68 thousand votes.

▶ Why is Brijmohan not in the hearts of the top leadership?

▶ It is not so, be it Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh or any national leader, if they know me by name and call me by name, it means that I am in their hearts too.

▶ Whom do you want to see as Chief Minister?

▶ Whatever decision the central leadership takes, it will be acceptable to me and everyone else.

▶ Bhupesh Baghel won from Patan?

▶He was the Chief Minister, that’s why he won. This victory of his does not matter. Being the Chief Minister, he won by only 19 thousand votes, whereas Vijay Sharma, Rajesh Munat won by 40 thousand votes each, Motilal Sahu won by 35 thousand votes. When he won by so many votes then why couldn’t the Chief Minister win by more than 50 thousand votes.

► What do you see as the political future of Bhupesh Baghel?

▶ No one’s future is always the same. The stars are not in his favor right now.

▶ Was the work done by Congress not important in the elections?

▶ Made false promises. The entire loan of farmers was not waived off. Only short term loans waived off. Small farmers were not happy with Congress. Farmers found it better than Congress’ loan waiver that BJP would give them two years’ bonus at once and the price of paddy would also be given in one lump sum.

What is the future of Dr. Raman Singh?

▶ I am not a fortune teller. There are senior leaders, any decision regarding them will be taken by the central leadership.

▶ What will Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan say about him?

▶ I have good friends. Is a public leader. The party might want to make some other use of them. BJP is a national party. He can also become Chief Minister again.

▶ What is the future of Congress?

▶ There is lack of leadership in Congress. Congress could not prepare a universally accepted leader. Those who are leaders behave childishly. This tarnishes the image of the country in the world.

▶ What would you say about India alliance?

▶ Nothing is visible anywhere in this. It is just a matter of weighing frogs, sometimes there are fewer frogs, sometimes there are more.

▶ What mistakes were made last time by those who lost, who would not want to make such mistakes again?

▶ There was no mistake. The public had to change the test. But the public understood that changing the test was too costly for them, so they gave the BJP a chance. The people of the state know that only BJP can develop the state.

▶ Will the skywalk be completed or demolished?

▶ Skywalk will definitely be completed. All those works of BJP rule will be completed, which Congress has not allowed to be completed during its five year tenure.
