Raipur. The bail plea of suspended IAS Ranu Sahu, who is in jail in the coal scam case of Chhattisgarh, can be heard in the High Court today. Ranu Sahu was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in July this year. ED has accused him of being involved in the coal scam. Earlier on Wednesday, 9 accused including Congress MLA Devendra Yadav did not appear in the court again in the same case.
Let us tell you that the accused in jail were produced online through video conferencing. When the ED lawyer objected to his absence in the court, the jail administration cited lack of force. At present the hearing of the case will be on January 6. If the accused still do not appear in the court, then a bailable warrant will be issued.
Notice to these accused again
It is being told that the court has again issued notice to 9 people including accused MLA Devendra Yadav and former MLA Chandradev Rai in this case. These include Congress leaders RP Singh, Vinod Tiwari, Roshan Singh, Piyush Sahu, Narayan Sahu, Manish Upadhyay. Saumya Chaurasia, IAS Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and Suryakant Tiwari and other accused are lodged in the coal scam case. All these accused are not attending the court for the last three hearings nor are they connecting through video conferencing.
Now the problems of officers may increase
Before the elections in the state, ED had taken major actions. ED had also conducted continuous raids on the locations of officials and close to the government. Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and Soumya Chaurasia are in jail in judicial custody. All these three officers were close to the previous government. It is believed that their problems may increase further if the government changes. Because before the elections, BJP had promised that after returning to power, these matters would be investigated seriously.
