Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will give a big gift of many development works to the residents of the capital Raipur. On September 27, he will gift facilities like new Tehsil building, Tatyapara road widening work and International Lawn Tennis Academy. District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure inspected the site for all these development works on Monday and instructed the officials to complete the necessary preparations. During this, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi and officials of the Public Works Department were present.

In fact, the residents of the capital have been eagerly waiting for the Tatyapara-Sharda Chowk road widening action plan to materialize on the ground for one and a half decade. This action plan was made 16 years ago, but due to other obstacles including compensation to the affected people, the widening work could not start till now. Even during the previous BJP government, a proposal for road widening was prepared, which was not approved. After the formation of the Congress Party government in the state, a proposal for widening the Tatyapara-Sharda Chowk road was prepared.

The state government has made a provision of Rs 10 crore for road widening in the budget and Rs 30 crore in the budget of Municipal Corporation Raipur. A compensation of Rs 125 crore is to be given to the landowners and shopkeepers affected by widening. The cost is estimated to be around Rs 137 crore including road construction and land acquisition. A 510 meter long road will be constructed here.

Will get relief from traffic jam

With the completion of the widening work of Tatyapara-Sharda Chowk road, the residents of the capital will get relief from traffic jams in the busiest area of the city. At present the road from Tatyapara to Sharda Chowk is quite narrow. Being the main road of the city, there is heavy traffic pressure every day. It becomes difficult for people to pass through this route in the evening. Due to widening of the road, people will get relief from traffic jams along with easy transportation.

Tennis academy built at a cost of Rs 17 crore

An international level tennis academy has been constructed near Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in the capital at a cost of about Rs 17 crore. Similarly, a new tehsil building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 11 crore. According to sources, the residents of the capital will get the gift of all these development works.

70 shops will be demolished

70 shops have been identified for the widening of Sharda Chowk to Tatyapara road. According to the Municipal Corporation’s survey, the shopkeepers affected by the demolition of these shops will get a compensation of Rs 60 crore. Mayor Ejaz Dhebar says, the state government has approved compensation for all the traders coming under the scope of widening. The process of road widening will start soon. Traders have already given consent for road widening.

pressure of two and a half lakh vehicles

Due to the pressure of 2.5 lakh vehicles on Tatyapara road, traffic problem persists here. The width of the road on Sharda Chowk to Tatyapara road is so less that parking the vehicles on the roadside creates traffic jams. The biggest problem for the police in making arrangements is due to the problem of traffic jam at the peak between 11 am and 7 pm.
