Raipur. Former Chhattisgarh CM and Rajnandgaon MLA Raman Singh filed nomination for the post of Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker. On this occasion, Deputy CM Arun Sao, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant and many BJP MLAs were present.

After filing the nomination, Raman Singh said, today I have filed the nomination and I thank both the party and the opposition. We are moving towards new responsibilities. I am going to get the responsibility of protecting this sacred house and 90 MLAs of entire Chhattisgarh. I would like to thank everyone. My efforts will be to ensure that the Assembly is run in a better manner and all issues are raised for the benefit of the state. Let us tell you that Raman Singh was the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh from 2003 to 2018.

Former CM Baghel and Leader of Opposition proposed the name

Regarding the post of Assembly Speaker, former CM Bhupesh Baghel and Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant proposed the name of Dr. Raman Singh, after which he was elected unopposed as the Assembly Speaker. Former CM Bhupesh Baghel congratulated him on being made the Assembly Speaker. Let us tell you that as soon as the name of Dr. Raman was discussed, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahanta had already said that we will support him and will not field any candidate against him.

Assembly proceedings will start from December 19

It is noteworthy that, notification for the winter session of the Assembly has been issued. Assembly proceedings will begin from December 19 and will continue till December 21. MLAs will be sworn in on 19th. Assembly Speaker will also be elected on the same day. Ram Vichar Netam took oath as Protem Speaker on Sunday itself. The Governor’s address will be held on Wednesday, December 20, the next day of the Assembly session. On the third day on December 21, the Governor’s address will be discussed. Government work will be done. Supplementary budget can also be discussed during this session.
