Raipur. These days, officers and employees across the state are busy preparing for the assembly elections. Due to this, officers and employees are not able to do their basic work, which is beginning to affect the common people. Due to the cases not being resolved, people’s problems have also increased along with their worries as to how long they will have to wait to get justice. Here, due to elections, the dates of hearing in the Revenue Court of Collectorate and Tehsil offices are being continuously extended for the last several days, while new cases are also not being resolved. Due to this, the number of revenue related cases across the state has increased to more than 1.5 lakh.

More than 12 thousand cases increased in 15 days

According to the data of Revenue website, these days 1 lakh 45 thousand 764 cases are registered across the state. Out of these, 1 lakh 42 thousand 562 cases are going on in the revenue courts of Collectorate and Tehsils. Of these cases, about 12 thousand cases have increased within the last 15 days. Although the impact of the elections had started falling on revenue related issues about one and a half months ago, this process which started with the election training of the officials, has now started having more impact after the announcement of the election date and implementation of the code of conduct.

The figure could not decrease in a year

The figure of revenue related cases on the Revenue website remained more than 1 lakh till last one year. This figure never decreased in these many months, but kept increasing. Last 6 months ago this figure had reached 1 lakh 35 thousand, but in the meantime, after the instructions of the government, some decline was seen in the figure, but after this this figure has increased again.

These cases are more pending

Pending revenue related cases include many cases including demarcation, nomination, error correction, measles, map pass, land possession, disputed devolution, sharing, loan book, record correction, diversion, correction in settlement records, miscellaneous general revenue cases.

More than 8 cases pending in the district

8205 cases are registered in Raipur district. Of these, 8102 cases are pending in the revenue courts. Among these registered cases, there are hundreds of cases which are pending for 2 to 5 years or more.

Work will speed up after elections

Only after the assembly elections, the work in Collectorate and Tehsil offices will be able to speed up, after which the pending cases will also be resolved quickly.
