Satyam Sharma – Rajnandgaon. Even though the main contest in Chhattisgarh has been between Congress and BJP, the third option in the form of BSP, SP and Janata Congress Jogi is also contesting on many seats. Has been exerting its influence. Especially in Bilaspur division, both the major parties have suffered more losses due to the third force. Talking about the last elections, the candidates of Janata Congress Jogi, who entered the electoral fray for the first time, may have won only five seats, but there were about a dozen seats where due to the votes received by the candidates of this party, both the major parties were in the lead. The win-loss equation got spoiled. Apart from this, the presence of BSP on half a dozen seats has been troubling both these parties. This time too, the leaders who rebelled and entered the field remain a matter of concern.

The election phase to elect the next government of Chhattisgarh state has started. The nomination process for 20 seats in the first phase has been completed. Now the withdrawal of nominations is going on. It is clear from the situation created after the distribution of tickets by both the major parties that this time also a large number of angry leaders will rebel and contest the elections. In such a situation, the equation between BJP and Congress may deteriorate due to these rebels and other parties present in the electoral fray as a third force. Even in the last elections, the third power got the support base due to the victory of BJP-Congress on 36 out of 90 seats in the state. In these 7 seats, both the major parties were defeated by the third power. This time too, the same situation seems to be emerging in a dozen out of 20 seats in the first phase.

Open opposition, danger of internal attack also

Candidates have been announced by both the parties. Since the announcement of the candidates, angry leaders of both the parties who were hoping for tickets have also opened their front. Some of them have even decided to rebel and contest the elections as independent candidates. Such leaders are in the fray in some seats including Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Kondagaon in the first phase.
