It is being told that due to family and land dispute, the young man committed the murder. In the year 1995, the accused’s father had also killed a member of the deceased woman’s family and had returned after serving his sentence in jail. This time his son killed the elderly woman of the same family. In village Jhurhatola, the accused youth Damendra Kumar had absconded after killing 70-year-old woman Basantin Bai on June 22. The woman used to live at that house of one of her sons. The son of the deceased woman was not at home when the elderly woman was murdered. The accused young man killed the elderly woman after finding her alone.

It is being told that the accused youth went to the house of an elderly woman and first stabbed her on the throat with a knife and then crushed her head with a brick.
