Fake Books seized in Patna: Fake books worth Rs 25 crore were caught in Bihar’s capital Patna on Friday. On the complaint of Bharti Bhawan, the police seized five printing presses. During the raid, fake books of different brands were found here. The highest number of books seized are from CBSE and NCERT. There were preparations to supply them in the market within two days.

40% fake books are available in the market
Bharti Bhawan was receiving complaints of poor quality for a year. When investigation was done, it was found that 40 percent of Bharti Bhawan’s books sold in Patna were fake. On gathering more information, it was found that there are 3 print presses and godowns in Ramakrishna Nagar area of ​​Patna and two in Bypass area, where fake books are printed in the names of big brands. Police have arrested the main kingpin Rakesh Kumar.

Fake book worth Rs 25 crore recovered
After getting solid evidence of fraud, City SP formed a team of SDPO Gaurav Kumar and police station in-charge and ordered a raid. Where fake books worth about Rs 25 crore were recovered. Police have registered a case in Ramakrishna Nagar police station and Bypass police station.

Fake books of Rajkamal and S Chand
Apart from CBSE and NCERT, books of a dozen publications including Bharti Bhawan, Rajkamal and S Chand were being printed in the seized printing press of Patna. After printing, binding and cutting, they were prepared for the market in the godown. Only fake books of NCERT and CBSE were printed in the press. Books worth around Rs 20 crore have been found only from NCERT and CBSE.

Fake books worth Rs 9 crore were caught in 2020
Police have arrested the mastermind of the fraud, Rakesh Kumar. Told that it was raided in 2020 also. At that time, fake books worth Rs 9 crore were recovered from 6 locations of Rakesh. Rakesh also went to jail, but as soon as he was released after 6 months, he again started the business of fake books. The matter is still pending in the court.

CBSE and NCERT books missing from the market
In Patna, only CBSE and NCERT books are taught in most of the schools. At present the demand is high, but the dealer’s setting has made CBSE and NCERT books disappear from the market. So that, parents are forced to buy fake books.
