Wrestlers Protest: India’s Olympic medalist wrestlers were sitting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for almost 39 days demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Their strike was ended by the Delhi Police. After this, all the protesting wrestlers have taken a big decision. Wrestler Sakshi Malik said via Twitter that all the wrestlers will go to Haridwar today and immerse the medals in the river Ganga at 6 pm and then sit on an indefinite hunger strike at India Gate.

Wrestler Sakshi Malik said that this medal is our life, our soul. After throwing them in the Ganges today, we will have no reason to live. Also said that after this we will go on hunger strike till death at India Gate. Wrestlers said about PM Modi that Prime Minister Modi ji calls us his daughters, he has not expressed concern about us even once. The statement by the wrestlers said that Brij Bhushan Singh was invited to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building. He also posed for his photo in bright white clothes. Whose glow was stinging all of us.

Top wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia are protesting against former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment of women athletes. All of them were sitting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi since 23rd April. On last Sunday i.e. 28th May, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Parliament House, the wrestlers had called a Mahila Mahapanchayat. After this Delhi Police took action against all of them.

The wrestlers were marching towards the new parliament building to attend the Mahila Mahapanchayat, when a large number of police and paramilitary personnel stopped them from going there. As the protesters tried to break through the security cordon, there was a scuffle and scuffle between the wrestlers and the police.

Many opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee strongly criticized this misbehavior by the police and attacked the central government fiercely.
