Asian Games 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Women’s Cricket Team for the Asian Games 2023. The Asian Games will begin on 23 September and end on 8 October. The women’s cricket competition will start from 19 to 28 September. The men’s competition will start from September 28 to October 8. Both the competitions will be played in T20 format.

Harmanpreet was made captain

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian women’s team and Smriti Mandhana has been named as the Vice Captain. Players like Harleen Deol, Kashvee Gautam, Sneh Rana, Saika Ishaque and Pooja Vastrakar have been included in the stand-by list. Fast bowler Titas Sadhu has also been included in the squad. She performed brilliantly in the U-19 Women’s World Cup held in South Africa. Young spinners Minnu Mani and Anusha Bareddy of the women’s cricket team have also been included. Wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh has also returned to the team.
