Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue live Update:The rescue operation in Uttarkashi tunnel of Uttarakhand has once again stopped due to a technical fault in the auger drilling machine. On Thursday, when the rescue operation was in its final stages, the platform on which the machine was installed developed some cracks. Due to which the rescue team had to stop the work midway. Now work is expected to resume on Friday.

Actually, 41 laborers are trapped in the tunnel of Uttarkashi since November 12. Many rescue agencies are working to get the workers out of the tunnel safely. Today it has been 13 days since the workers were trapped in the tunnel. To take out the workers, digging is being done with augon drilling machine. Many times during digging some such hard metal comes across. Due to which a technical fault occurs in the machine and the rescue operation stops midway. There was full hope of evacuating the workers on Thursday. But, due to technical glitch this work had to be stopped again. Stay connected here for live updates.

Excavation up to 46.8 meters has been done so far.

The work is still stalled due to a technical fault in the auger drilling machine. Till now, the rescue team has drilled up to 46.8 meters in the Silkyara tunnel.



CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also visited the incident site.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached the spot on Thursday. He took stock of the rescue operation and also talked to the workers trapped in the tunnel. The CM also had full hope that the workers would come out by late Thursday night. But, this could not happen. In such a situation, it is expected that the rescue operation will start again on Friday and they will be taken out soon.

Seven experts have reached Uttarakhand from Delhi.Team

Earlier it was being reported that ambulances were waiting outside the tunnel and ICU beds were reserved at Rishikesh’s AIIMS hospital for the stranded workers.A team of seven experts from Delhi arrived at the site to help speed up the operation. NDRF Director General Atul Karwal said the first 6-metre pipe has already been laid, while welding work for drilling the next pipe of the same length is underway.
