According to the information received, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced this decision in the state secretariat on Monday. The announcement came minutes after Mamata Banerjee alleged that “BJP is funding a film on Bengal on the lines of Kashmir Files”. The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary of the State to ensure that the film is removed from the running screens in the State. Mamta Banerjee said that this decision has been taken to maintain peace in Bengal, avoid any incident of hate crime and violence.
