Harmanpreet Kaur: There was a big controversy during the second ODI between the India and Bangladesh women’s cricket team (India Women vs Bangladesh Women) at the Sher-e-Bangla cricket stadium in Dhaka. Chasing 226 for victory, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur was given out LBW by the umpire. The 34-year-old Harmanpreet also had a heated argument with the umpire.

After getting out, Harmanpreet was leaving angrily saying something to the umpire. The ball on which he was declared out during the match. That ball had touched the bat before hitting his pads. However, even though Harmanpreet Kaur was right and the ball hit the bat before hitting the pads, the same ball was caught by the fielder in the slips. Harmanpreet criticized poor umpiring

Indian Women’s Team and Bangladesh Women’s Team (IND-W vs BAN-W) 2nd ODI match ended in a draw and the three match ODI series between Indian Women’s Cricket Team vs Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team ended in a 1-1 draw. After the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur strongly criticized the ‘poor umpiring’ throughout the ODI series.

Harmanpreet said, “There was a lot to learn from this game. Apart from cricket, we were very surprised with the kind of umpiring that was happening there. Next time whenever we are coming to Bangladesh, we have to make sure that we will have to deal with this kind of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly… We controlled the game very well, but as I said earlier there was some pathetic umpiring and we are really disappointed with some of the decisions given by the umpires.”

Nigar Sultana criticized Harmanpreet

Bangladesh women’s team captain Nigar Sultana Joti criticized Harmanpreet Kaur, saying that as a player the Indian captain “should have spoken with a little manners”.

Joty said, “This is what she (Harmanpreet Kaur) did and we have nothing to do about it. But as a sportsperson, she should have spoken with some decorum. It is completely her matter and I would not like to comment on her. There were some conversations which I cannot disclose. But I felt the atmosphere was not right and so we left. Cricket is a respectable game and a gentleman’s game.”
