PM Modi Kenyan President Joint Press Meet: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Tuesday. During this, five MoUs were exchanged after discussions in various fields including sports, IT and education.

In a joint statement with Kenyan President William Samoa Ruto, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today we are issuing a press release on a joint vision on maritime cooperation. Cooperation between India and Kenya will boost all our efforts. He said India and Kenya agree that terrorism is the most serious challenge facing mankind. In this regard, we have decided to enhance our mutual cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism.

He said that Africa has been the top priority in India’s foreign policy. He said that in the last decade, India has worked to build cooperation with Africa in mission mode. He expressed hope that the visit will help boost relations and engagement with Kenya and Africa. The PM said that this year 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Kenya are being completed.

Let us tell you that the Kenyan President reached New Delhi on Monday i.e. 4th December on a three-day visit to India. He is also accompanied by a high level official delegation. President Ruto was welcomed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan this Tuesday morning. Speaking to the media, he said that he has a lot of similarity with Prime Minister Modi on what the Global South needs to do. He said there is a need to strengthen relations between Kenya and India.

The Kenyan President said that we have a long history of cooperation. During my visit today, we have strengthened that relationship and expanded the scope of engagement between our governments. Let us tell you that this is President Ruto’s first visit to India. In the evening he will meet President Draupadi Murmu. A state banquet will be organized by President Murmu. Apart from this, the Kenyan President will also participate in a trade and investment program in New Delhi.
