Sonia Gandhi on suspension of 141 MPs: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chief Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday criticized the Narendra Modi government over the suspension of opposition MPs in the ongoing winter session of Parliament.

Actually, Sonia Gandhi addressed the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting on Wednesday. During this, Sonia Gandhi said that this government (Modi government) has strangled democracy. Never before had so many opposition MPs been suspended from the House (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). All of them were raising fair and legitimate demands. Apart from this, he also gave a statement regarding the lapse in the security of Parliament. He said that what happened on December 13 is unforgivable and cannot be justified. It took four days for the PM to address the nation and express his views on the incident. He did this outside Parliament. By doing so he has clearly indicated his disdain.

Sonia Gandhi also spoke on defeat in three states

Sonia Gandhi said during the Centennial Party meeting that the assembly election results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have been very disappointing for our party. The Congress President has already conducted the first round of review to understand the reasons for the party’s poor performance and draw necessary lessons for our organisation. CPP President Sonia Gandhi says that we are facing huge challenges, yet I am confident that our patience and resilience will lead us to victory.
