Sukhdev Singh Murder Case: Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was murdered in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon, two days after the departure of CM Ashok Gehlot’s government in Rajasthan. Angered by the massacre, Karni Sena called for Rajasthan bandh today. Taking to the streets, people are demanding ‘Baba wala justice’ against the accused. Not only this, many users on social media are blaming CM Gehlot’s government for this massacre. If we look at the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), people’s allegations seem to have merit.
Number one in Rajasthan crime
NCRB data shows that Rajasthan ranks first in the number of rape incidents in the country. Last year i.e. in 2022, 5399 cases of rape were reported from Rajasthan, while in 2021, 6337 cases were reported and in 2020, 5310 cases were reported. Not only this, a total of 45058 cases of other crimes against women were reported. The report shows that Rajasthan is far behind in taking action against the accused in rape cases. Not only this, reports show that the figures of murder cases are also shocking. In Rajasthan, 1834 murder cases were registered in 2022. Out of these, only 57 percent cases are such in which Rajasthan Police filed the charge sheet and in the remaining 43 percent cases the charge sheet was not filed.
Experts say that BJP had given assurance of taking strict action against crime citing crime in Rajasthan. Since the people of Rajasthan are also troubled by criminals, this was also one of the reasons why the public did not support Rajasthan Congress. Two days after the results of Rajasthan Assembly elections were declared, the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in broad daylight has shocked everyone. Not only the people of Karni Sena but also the general public is demanding that ‘Baba wala Nyay’ should be given against the criminals.

This means that just as bulldozer action and encounter took place against big criminals in UP, similarly criminals should be tightened in Rajasthan too. Actually, the name of Mahant Baba Balaknath of Baba Mastnath Math is included in the race for the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Baba Balaknath’s video has gone viral on social media, in which he is seen saying that criminals should leave Rajasthan. CM Yogi had said something similar while warning the criminals in UP. This is the reason why many people in Rajasthan also want to see Baba Balaknath as CM. Not only this, many people are insisting for governance on the lines of the film ‘Nayak’. In this film starring actor Anil Kumar, it is shown that a journalist becomes the CM for a day due to circumstances. Even after being in power for a day, he takes such actions that the public starts applauding him.
Tension in many districts including Jaipur
Protests are going on in many districts of Rajasthan including Jaipur. In Jaipur, where the protesters blocked the highway for two hours, they also set fire to the BJP office. Police and administrative officials are assuring people to exercise restraint and take strict action against the accused. A reward of Rs 5 lakh each has been declared against the accused. Principal Secretary of Home Department, Anand Kumar told the media that we are considering handing over the investigation of Sukhdev murder case to NIA. Talks are going on with the protesters. There is an appeal to the people to maintain peace, we will give strict punishment to the accused.
