School Bandh:Leaders of student unions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have announced closure of educational institutions on Tuesday i.e. today. All India Students Federation (AISF) and CPI leaders have announced this bandh. The student unions are protesting against several irregularities in the education sector and want that their demands should be met by the government.

what is the reason behind the shutdown

According to media reports, educational institute bandh has been organized due to various reasons, which has affected the lives of the students. The union leaders have demanded that the basic facilities in the hostels be improved and the mess fee be reduced. Along with this, they have also demanded the government to fill the vacant posts of wardens, cooks and watchmen in the hostels. There has also been a demand to build compound walls for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Schools (KSBVs) and women’s hostels in gurukuls in both the states. He also said that all the student organizations have come together against the government to fulfill these demands.

Earlier, about 50 girls had fallen ill at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika School in Amarchinta village after consuming bad food. According to the students, the food being served was substandard and spoiled tomatoes were used.

Telugu Nadu Students’ Federation (TNSF) has also taken a stand against the anti-student policies of the government and supported the shutdown of educational institutions today. TNSF President Pranav Goyal said that the state government should take strict action against the increased fees of the institutions. According to media reports, there are many areas in Andhra Pradesh where schools are already closed due to heavy rains. Many students are not going to school due to heavy rain.
