Rajasthan Election 2023: When the battle of Rajasthan started, the Congress Party seemed scattered and divided into two factions. The sourness in the relations between the two senior leaders of the party, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, had increased so much that the central leadership of the Congress had to intervene. However, now the tensions seem to be subsiding. A day before the elections in the state, CM Ashok Gehlot has shared Sachin Pilot’s vote appeal through his Twitter handle.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has posted a video urging people to vote for his party in the upcoming assembly elections, putting an end to speculations of a rift between the two senior leaders. This comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections, in which he took a dig at the two leaders by pointing out the power struggle between them.
In the video, Pilot also said that he has addressed hundreds of public meetings and is still unable to reach many areas. Pilot appealed that thus through the video I am appealing to all my people of the state to vote for Congress and change the tradition of alternative party government in Rajasthan. Ahead of the assembly elections, Gehlot and Pilot have presented a united face and also jointly addressed a public meeting in the state.
There was tension between Pilot and Gehlot
After the rebellion of Pilot and Gehlot in 2020, there was a situation of conflict between them in the state. However, the Congress leadership came forward and resolved the matter before the assembly elections and presented a united face. In the last 20 days, Rahul Gandhi has addressed 14 public meetings in the state, while Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have addressed 9 meetings each. Voting for the assembly is scheduled to take place on Saturday and counting of votes will take place on December 3. The Congress is eyeing a second consecutive term in the state, where there has been a tradition of alternative party government for the last three decades.
