Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that ration card holders are being forced by shopkeepers to buy the national flag. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi has also accused the BJP of selling “nationalism” and hurting the self-respect of the poor.
In a Facebook post in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi said that the tricolor is our pride, it resides in every heart. Nationalism can never be sold, it is very shameful that instead of giving ration, 20 rupees are being extorted from the poor in the name of tricolor. Along with the tricolor, the BJP government is also attacking the self-respect of the poor of our country.
It is unfortunate if the celebration of 75th anniversary of independence becomes a burden on the poor.
Earlier, BJP MP Varun Gandhi had also alleged that ration card holders were being forced to buy the national flag as a condition for taking ration. He said that it would be unfortunate if the celebration of 75th Independence anniversary becomes a burden on the poor. In a tweet in Hindi, Varun Gandhi said that it is ‘shameful’ to force the poor to pay for the ‘tricolour’ and deprive them of their food. The ‘Tiranga’ remains in the heart of every Indian.
Explain that the central government has urged people to hoist or display the national flag from their homes during August 13-15 under its ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme. The Bharatiya Janata Party is running a campaign to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call a big success.
