Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of not cremating Agniveer Amritpal Singh, who was found dead in Jammu and Kashmir on October 11, with military honours. Questioned the central government led by.
Senior AAP leader and MP Raghav Chadha said that the truth of the Central Government’s Agniveer scheme has come before the country. Agniveer Amritpal Singh, a resident of Mansa district of Punjab, died while on duty in Rajouri sector on October 11. Without wrapping it in the tricolor, his mortal remains were brought to his native village Kotli Kalan in a private ambulance. Amritpal was not even given military honors and martyr status. Now his family will not get any pension.
He said that after Shaheed Amritpal did not get military honors from the Central Government, Punjab Police bid him last farewell with full state honours. Along with giving an honorarium of Rs 1 crore to his family, the Punjab government will also give him the status of martyr. Shame on the central government which does not respect martyrs.
Raghav Chadha said that people have asked many questions to the BJP government sitting at the Center as to why Agniveer did not get any martyr status and military honor after being martyred on duty? Why was his body sent in a private ambulance and in civil uniform? Weren’t they wrapped in the tricolor flag and handed over to their families? Is this the real truth of Agniveer Scheme?

Chadha said that BJP should listen with open ears that as long as the honor of the soldier is alive in the country, only then the desire for prosperity of the country is alive. The country does not run on speeches and catchphrases, my India is alive only because of the martyrs. When a leader dies in this country, national mourning is declared. Our flag is flown at half mast, monuments are erected. A holiday is declared in government offices, but today if any Agniveer dies on duty, he is not given the status of martyr. Military honors are not provided, they are not provided any pension or assistance. This is the truth of BJP government’s Agniveer scheme.
