Parliament Winter Session: On the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had targeted former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. On Tuesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi hit back at Shah’s statement. Rahul Gandhi said that Nehru gave his life for India, Amit Shah does not know history. He is just doing this to divert the issues.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the basic issue is caste based census and who is getting the people’s money? He doesn’t want to discuss this issue, he runs away from it. We will take this issue forward and ensure that the poor get what they deserve.

Rahul Gandhi further said that our CM in Chhattisgarh was also from OBC, he also announced OBC CM, but the question is what is their percentage in the structure? PM Modi is from OBC category, but out of 90 secretaries of the Central Government, only 3 are from OBC and their offices are in a corner. My question is about the participation of OBCs, Dalits and tribals in the institutional system. He talks about Jawaharlal Nehru and others to divert us from the issue.

What did Amit Shah say in Parliament?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said in Parliament that the Supreme Court held that Article 370 was a temporary provision. If Article 370 was so appropriate, so necessary, then why did Nehru ji use the word temporary in front of it? Those who say that Article 370 is permanent are insulting the intention of the Constituent Assembly and the Constitution.

He further said that the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India was delayed because one person (Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru) was given the responsibility. Now Congress also has objection to the decision of the Supreme Court. I cannot convince Congress and other opposition parties because I have dignity.
