Vijay Diwas 2023: Every year 16 December is celebrated as Vijay Diwas in India. On this day in 1971, the Indian Army had registered a historic victory against Pakistan. Why is Vijay Diwas celebrated
Actually, at the time of partition, two parts of India were separated in the name of West Pakistan and East Pakistan. A large part of Bengal was known as East Pakistan. The government of West Pakistan continued to oppress the people of East Pakistan. Endured oppression for 24 years from East Pakistan to West Pakistan. India supported him in the freedom struggle of East Pakistan. With India’s victory in the war, East Pakistan became independent and became Bangladesh.
The conflict started after the general elections
General elections were held in Pakistan in 1970. East Pakistan Awami League leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became famous in this election. Who had staked claim to form the government. But here Pakistan Peoples Party leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was irritated who refused the people of East and West Pakistan to interfere in each other’s territory. Meanwhile the tension increased so much that atrocities started increasing.
