The van collided with a truck parked on the roadside. The van was moving at high speed at the time of the accident. Due to fog the driver could not see the parked truck. Information about the accident has been sent to the families of the deceased. The concerned family members and relatives will reach the hospital soon.

The van was completely damaged. It is learned that the deceased belonged to two families of Podamari village in Ganjam district. Some of them are relatives of former BJD Rajya Sabha MP Renubala Pradhan. The injured were first admitted to Ghatgaon Hospital for treatment. After first aid there, he has been transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for further treatment.
