Impact player was used in which domestic tournament before IPL?
Keeping in mind the increasing popularity of cricket in the country, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) keeps on bringing various new rules to make it more exciting. However, this rule was used in cricket by the ICC (International Cricket Council) in the year 2005. It was used as a super sub. In this rule, if a Super Sub player came in place of a dismissed batsman or a bowler who had bowled, he could neither bat nor bowl. After some time the ICC had withdrawn the rule.
After this, the ICC has implemented this rule as a substitute player in Test cricket with some changes, in which another player can play in his place if a cricketer is injured. If a batsman is injured during the game, then the batsman can join the team instead of the batsman. On the other hand, if a bowler is injured, then the bowler is included instead of the bowler.
