Maharashtra government called a meeting

Besides, a committee has also been formed for impartial investigation.

What did Mallikarjun Kharge say

Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge has raised questions on the health structure of the state government and demanded a thorough investigation. Kharge said that it is being said that these patients have died due to lack of medicine and treatment. A similar incident took place in a government hospital in Thane in August 2023, in which 18 patients lost their lives. He said that we demand a thorough investigation so that the court gives strict punishment to those guilty of this negligence.

Death also occurred in a hospital in Thane.

In August this year, more than 27 people died within four days at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, Thane. While giving clarification, Thane Municipal Corporation had said that the condition of the patients was very critical and their age was also a major reason. Keeping in mind the possibility of any medical negligence on the part of the hospital or doctors, a committee was formed on the orders of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to investigate the matter.
