Mustafizur was born in a normal family
Mustafizur was born in a modest family in Satkhira, Bangladesh. The names of his parents are Abul Qasim Ghazi and Mahmuda Khatoon. Mustafizur was fond of playing cricket since childhood. This is the reason why Mustafizur did not stop playing cricket even because of lack. Seeing his interest in cricket, his brothers used to take Rahman away from home every morning to feed him the match. Mustafizur played as a batsman with a tennis ball in his early days. Mustafizur had told during a conversation with the media that he decided to bowl after being inspired by Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir.
Mustafizur’s international career
Mustafizur made his international debut on 24 April 2015 against Pakistan. In his very first match, Mustafizur grabbed the headlines by taking the wickets of two of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen. In this match, he took the wickets of two legendary batsmen of Pakistan, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez. Seeing this performance, the Bangladesh Cricket Board gave Mustafizur a place in the ODI team as well. In this match too, Mustafizur left his mark in ODI cricket by taking five wickets in 9.2 overs. After this till now he never looked back. Today he has become one of the greatest bowlers of Bangladesh.
Mustafizur’s record and achievements
1. In December 2016, he was named the ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year, the first Bangladeshi player to win one of the ICC’s annual awards.
2. Mustafizur won the Best Athlete of the year 2015 award from Bangladesh Sports Press Association.
3. Mustafizur was again included in the ICC ODI Team of the Year 2018.
4. At the annual ICC Awards in January 2022, Mustafizur was included in the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year for the year 2021.
5. Was named in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year for the year 2021.
