Voting is underway in Nagaland from 7 am amid tight security arrangements. Here polling is being held on 59 out of 60 assembly seats in 16 districts. On February 10, the Congress candidate from Akuluto constituency, Khekashe Sumi, had withdrawn his name. Due to this BJP candidate Kajeto Kinimi was elected unopposed. Chief Electoral Officer V Shashank Shekhar said that there are a total of 13 lakh voters in the state. A total of 2315 polling stations have been set up for voting on 59 seats. For this, 183 candidates are in the fray, including 4 women and 19 independent candidates.

Voting is underway for 60 assembly seats in a total of 12 districts of Meghalaya. For this, 3419 polling stations have been set up. Here NPP is contesting on 57 seats. Whereas Congress and BJP are contesting on 60-60 seats. Apart from this, TMC 56 candidates have also entered the fray. There are a total of 30 lakh voters in Meghalaya. There are 375 candidates in the fray, including 339 men and 36 women.
