Maratha Reservation: The movement that started in Maharashtra demanding Maratha reservation has become fierce. It has spread to 8 districts of Marathwada. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has called an all-party meeting on Wednesday i.e. this morning to discuss the situation. According to media reports, Shinde will apprise the opposition leaders about the government’s plans to deal with the situation, for which the government will seek their support. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut claimed that his party’s MLAs and MPs have not been called.

Sanjay Raut said- Our party was not invited

Sanjay Raut posted on X that his party’s MPs and MLAs have not been invited to the all-party meeting called by the Maharashtra government on Maratha reservation. He claimed that the state government has only called Ambadas Danve, the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, to the meeting. Also said that Shisena UBT has become an eyesore for him.

MLAs’ cars vandalized

Two people raising slogans for Maratha reservation were seen vandalizing the car of Minister of State and NCP leader Hasan Mushrif at the MLA’s residence near Akashvani in Mumbai’s Colaba. Police have detained three people in this connection. All of them are being interrogated in the case.

So far 26 people have committed suicide demanding Maratha reservation.

Yesterday in Maharashtra, a total of 9 people including a woman committed suicide in a single day demanding Maratha reservation. In 13 days from 19th to 31st October, 26 people of Maratha community committed suicide. Movement leader Manoj Jarange said that we do not want half-hearted reservation. This time, no matter what force comes, the Marathas will not stop. He further said that if no decision is taken in the all-party meeting of the Maharashtra government today, then he will also sacrifice water.

Jarange said that the government should not harass the Maratha youth who are protesting peacefully otherwise a strong reaction will be given. He criticized Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who has said that the perpetrators of violence in Beed will face charges under IPC section 307 (Attempt To Murder). Jarange expressed displeasure over the state cabinet’s decision to grant Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas in the Marathwada region.
